Dr Mohd Asri is
described by some as Malaysia’s most critical preacher. The entire spectrum of
Dr Mohd Asri is then spreading more when he was formally appointed as Perlis
Mufti. Through writing, this brilliant man brings us to a region of deep
thinking toward what we had practiced for a long time as a Muslim.
Is it a genuine and authentic Islam; or Islam
that has been garnished by so called ulama’? Another strong element is
substantial evidence that he permeates in each idea he comes with. Many
progressives Muslims especially those in professional field advocate his idea
in liberating the siege mentality of many Malaysian Muslims (or Muslim
Malaysians?)
I enjoyed all he
presented.
Some might find
it problematic when people were taught toward rooted knowledge over a certain hukum,
however. Those with a weaker intellection keep labelling him tirelessly as
insulting ulama’, Wahabi and any label that should not come out from groups who
confess themselves as pejuang sunnah.
Moving forward,
Dr Mohd Asri seems to involve in political sphere. The critique on Bid’a lessen
while the opinion on political realm frequently appear.
Amidst the
election-fevered phase, he comes with one-sided view. The outspoken of him
gravitates to that particular party. There is no prohibition to show support to
any party that we hold with albeit whoever we are. And yes, he tends to support
the side which I do not come into line. I respectfully beg to differ yet still
I am okay as more crucially is not what party we chose, but what reason we
believed in.
Sadly, to know
he is now acting similar as of many other politician, it is disappointing.
Here I disagree
with Dr Mohd Asri.
Again, I am
disappointed in individual so called orang agama. Again and again. Indeed,
I shall expect nothing to anyone as it just leads to disappointment which is
hurting.
It is easier to
forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.
To my mind, more
needs to be done instead of helping political party in their campaign, Dr.
Please dont.
